Avoid Frozen Pipes
Frozen pipes can be a homeowners worst nightmare. When water freezes it expands putting pressure on pipes, valves, tubing, and hoses. The result is often costly and very very time consuming to fix. In cold winter climates it’s always smart to insulated pipes that are exposed. Where possible, turn off water lines and drain pipes that are not in use.
If the unthinkable should happen, thawing the pipes is neccessary before repairs can be performed. We recommend using heat tape or a Powerblanket electric heated pipe thawing blanket to speed things up. We list several of the most popular models that can be draped over or wrapped around frozen pipes for extra fast thawing. Safe on both metal and plastic pipes and hoses.
Other popular Powerblanket sizes include those below. Draping or wrapping pipes or simply laying Powerblanket over pipes and hoses is also effective at thawing and melting ice in those nasty hard to reach places. Because Powerblanket is so flexible, wrapping and twisting the heated blanket is a cinch. Deliver a barrier of heat, directly to pipes, hoses, waterlines, and tubing. Powerblanket protects and insulates all winter long. Plug it in and walk away – watch you troubles melt away!
