Plumbers, Contractors, and home owners deserve a better solution for thawing frozen pipes. Heat tape and bulky electric blowers are a thing of the past…. exit stage left! Powerblanket has entered the scene with a revolutionary new heat spreading technology that is both patented and low energy. We tested their model #EH0409 (4 foot x 9 foot) Extra-Hot thawing blanket and found it to deliver everything promised. It quickly melted through frozen water pipes and was safe on both PVC & multiple metal alloy pipes.

The fact that the blanket is insulated makes it the perfect solution for both protecting pipes from freezing or thawing after the fact. Unlike heat tape which loses it effectiveness to the surrounding cold air…. Powerblanket products heat and insulate, requiring only a fraction of the wattage. I was very impressed with their entire line of heating and pipe thawing products. You can’t go wrong with Powerblanket. Call 877-927-6432 for more information on this amazing new product.

Several years ago I moved to a colder region of the country and quickly discovered that I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. Instead of winter datytime temeratures that occassionally dipped in the 30′s F… I was now dealing with -11F for the highs. Going outdoors was difficult, and trying to work in that type of environment was virtually impossible. In those days, we closed up shop when temperatures dipped below zero, and we certainly didn’t bother trying to dig through the white stuff.

Then I discovered a remarkable product that would tip the odds in my favor by allowing me to thaw frozen ground, thaw frozen pipes, and melt ice & snow… regardles of outdoor wintertime temperatures. It was called Powerblanket. Once plugged in to any 20A wall outlet, Powerblanket quickly heated, delivering a barrier of warmth to pipes, engines, sidewalks, roofs, floors, thaw ground, and other trouble areas.

The first time I used a Poweblanket I didn’t know what to expect. It had a power cord coming out of it, and it did have some bulk to it, so i could tell there was more to the blanket than just the outer vinyl shell. So I plugged it in and haven’t looked back since. Pipe thawing, Drum heating, bucket warming, ground thawing, and even a series of concrete curing blankets quickly made a believer out of me.

So bring it on Father Winter, give me your best shot!

Every winter, I receive many phone calls and emails from people with frozen pipes. The conversations are most always the same. They did not take the necessary precautions to prevent freezing pipes, and now they need help before the problem gets more serious. My response is the same every time. In order to prevent frozen pipes, actions must be taken PRIOR to the pipes freezing up.

Fortunately, methods for thawing frozen pipes do exist. However, none of them are as effective as complete prevention of the problem. Most people are familiar with a few preventative methods, but there’s a good chance you aren’t reading this unless you are still having problems. Below are what I have found to be the most effective ways to prevent freezing.

Heat tape is a favored method, but also has many drawbacks. It can be a hassle to set up and maintain. Imagine wrapping a tape around every pipe in your house, or even over the length of one pipe. I don’t think that i need to write what is problematic about this one. It works is some cases where temperatures don’t dip too far below freezing, but much of the heat from the tape gets lost in the air.

Insulation is another obvious way to prevent freezing. However, in sub-zero temperatures, insulation will not do much good, no matter how many layers you apply. The biggest problem with insulation is that it is really only beneficial when the temperatures are at least reasonable. Obviously every house should have insulation, but in no way should it be the only prevention method.

Powerblanket pipe thawers are a new technology which have caught my eye. They utilize a heat spreading technology which eliminates hot/cold spots, and delivers a uniform barrier of warmth to anything it touches. They come in many different sizes, but all have one main purpose. Fighting cold. Just wrap a Powerblanket around your pipes, plug it in, and walk away.

Powerblanket heats up fast, easy to use, and effective at fighting cold weather problems (thawing, melting snow & ice, curing concrete, warming barrels & drums, etc). From now on, Powerblanket.com is where i’m sending anybody with any questions. CALL 877-927-6432. Powerblanket pipe thawing and snow melting blankets are available at these fine locations:
